The lake is surrounded by a 7,800-acre wildlife area and offers opportunities for fishing, boating, camping, hiking, and bike riding. There are four campgrounds available for overnight stays, as well as several picnic areas and a beach for swimming. The lake is home to a variety of fish, including crappie, bass, and catfish, making it a popular destination for anglers.
